Blacks in Canada vs.Blacks in the US vs. UK and Carribean

Ok, forget Drake !!! But he does pose some hard questions. No, not his lyrics. Other questions: Would Drake have made it here in the US. Is Canada a better place ? and if so why ??

When Don Barden died, I looked up Inkster, MI, his home town. Inkster is a working and middle class mostly Black suburb of Detroit.

If you have ever been to Detroit you know right across the river is Windsor, Canada. According to the census, metro Detroit is richer than Windsor. Detroit had 308 murders in 2010. But Windsor is safe, clean and everyone has health care. When I was in Windsor I could not really find the "bad" side of town.

So, I just have to admit that Canada is doing something right and we are doing something wrong. But what is that exactly.

  1. Having been raised in Canada, I think Canada enables people to develop their thoughtfulness towards others more so than in the US. This may be the result of Canada being a socialist country first and then a capitalist country second. As such, education and healthcare are subsidized heavily through taxes. This enables all people - the rich and the poor to take care of their physical well being and the development of their minds. The consequence is that Canadians are often kind in their behavior and their sense of civic responsibility. I am in no means saying that these behaviors are found in Canada only. In fact, experience has shown me that there are very kind and civic minded people in all parts of the world. Canada is just one example of a country that has done it well!
